Everything I’m Not, Made Me Everything I Am

It wouldn’t be fair not to show you some of our earliest designs and prototypes from over the years, before we decided on the final product that made it to market. MODAR also had smaller subsidiaries—other clothing lines—within the brand. Before we got to where we are now, we started off with CrazyQuarterHorse Tees in 2005, which was just a line of funny/crude t-shirts at the time. Just picture Spencer’s. Not much to show for it, really. A few were made and sold among friends. This didn’t last long, and in my honest opinion, it wasn’t a success, but it taught me a lot.

Right when CQH tees was about to be shelved, I had another brand idea in the chamber, MODAR, that came about in 2007-2008 and was being promoted pretty heavily until 2010. I took a much-needed but long hiatus for academic/professional career development for 6 years! Got caught up with life & didn’t forget about it, but still found ways to incorporate it into projects.

In late 2016 Houston Made was created, just in time for the Super Bowl in Houston. It was fun, we were able to sell some at a hip-hop fun run as well as some patrons/visitors in the city for the Super Bowl. But it wasn’t until 2024 after being exit scammed by a few brands that couldn’t deliver. Many have told me if anyone could make something great and detailed then it would be me. [Perfectionism is not fun] So we turned our focus and attention to MODAR. We plan to give our very best efforts to see and meet our potential of what we’re capable of.

But not to overload ya’ll here are a few photos behind the scenes from our journey:

We really hope that as we grow, we’ll be able to share more of these with you all very soon!
