Humble Beginnings

What is MODAR?

Making Our Dreams A Reality

How the concept/Idea was conceived.

In 2006, after facing hardships with a toxic collegiate coach, a difficult team dynamic, and an overall negative school atmosphere, the decision was made to return to the hometown to finish studies. Walking away from the sport once loved and the strict schedule that had defined everyday life left a void that needed to be filled.

Sensing the change, my brother and his group of friends stepped in and suggested exploring the world of dance. One night, they took me to a club, and without warning, they began showcasing their dance skills/choreography. The ENTIRE crowd was mesmerized, applauding, & cheering them on with awe and excitement. I stood there, stunned, in that exact moment, it became clear that learning to move like them was the next step.

At first, they laughed & teased, but when they recognized the seriousness behind the interest, they welcomed the opportunity to teach with open arms. They revealed that life was more than just sports, there was an entire world out there waiting to be unlocked. They reassured that everything would be alright.

From that very experience sparked a new perspective, a new mindset—one that sought more from life, one that was driven to do good and spread positivity. It was the catalyst for the creation of MODAR. An idea born from the need to share something tangible—something people could wear & proudly display to the world, symbolizing the message that there’s always more to life than the limitations we place on ourselves.
